Abstract. The article deals with the need to take into account the students’ native language in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language. This is a prerequisite for any foreign language conscious study including such diverse systems as Russian and Mongolian. The teacher of Russian as a foreign language faces the task of identifying and functionally semantic analyzing those grammatical structures of the Russian language, which represent great difficulties for the Russian-speaking Mongols, because they are caused by interlingual interference. The article brings forward one possible way to deal with the Grammar material, working with the Mongolian audience comprising future teachers of Russian as a foreign language, sampling the topic “Compound nominal predicate in the Russian language”.

Keywords: taking into consideration the native language in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language, functional and semantic approach, conscious study, interference, compound nominal predicate.
