Abstract. The urgency of the studied problem is in fact that now special schools are to provide pedagogical support for professional self-determination of students with intellectual disabilities. The article analyzes various approaches to the essence of professional self-determination phenomenon, its components, stages and conditions. The issues impeding the professional self-determination of special schools graduates are considered. The author describes the methodology and results of studying the professional preferences of senior schoolchildren with intellectual disabilities.
