Abstract. The article deals with the analysis of mentality of the Russians, Russian-speaking Chinese and Chinese. In the process of empirical research, the components characterizing the peculiarities of respondents mentality are identified: civil identity, value orientations, religiosity, level of economic consciousness, their relationship with the social and psychological adaptation of Russian-speaking Chinese is analyzed. All migrants feel a sense of pride or confidence as representatives of their state and people, which confirms the rule of actualization of civil and ethnic identity in the environment of a foreign majority. With the help of free associative experiment three semantic layers of associations with words-stimuli related to the components of mentality were revealed: associations-characteristics, associations-emotions, associations-personalities, revealing the semantic content of the components of mentality. It was found that the Russian-speaking Chinese Association of semantic content closer to the associations obtained in the group of Russian respondents.
