Abstract. In the process of reforming and transforming the education system in Russia, including pre-school education, the issue of motivating teachers for professional activities is becoming more important. The paper is devoted to the motivation of pre-school teachers to work and its impact on the effectiveness of their professional activities. The article gives a description of the basic concepts: “motivation”, “efficiency of activity”, and the criteria for the effectiveness of preschool teachers’ professional activity. The author offers the diagnostic techniques for studying motivation and professional activity effectiveness in the preschool educational institution, as well as the system of measures that allow educational organizations to change their work, increase teachers motivation and, as a result, to raise the effectiveness of their activities.
