Abstract. The paper examines the cognitive barriers of pedagogical college students, provides the samples of such barriers, gives practical recommendations for their prevention and correction. The technique of finding and overcoming cognitive barriers is described with the technique of organizing students’ independent work. The author focuses on the problem of occurrence of various kinds of difficulties in students in educational and cognitive activity when stydents work. independently.
