Abstract. Introduction. The modern Russian reality is characterized by crisis phenomena in the social and economic sphere and education, which led to a certain ambiguity in choosing future profession. Materials and methods. In the paper we consider various theoretical positions on the studied issue concerning to individual development of rural school students with disabilities. The author focuses on psychological and pedagogical interaction of parents and school of parental support “Thuja”. Results of the research. In the research the educational resource of the modern village is used as much as possible for creating conditions that allow special children to decide about their professional future. Positive dynamics in personal development and professional self-determination of students with disabilities is recorded. Discussion and conclusion. The programme of professional orientation and tests, as well as the system of traditional activities were created and implemented together with parents and school’s social partners. While the empirical research conducting the most effective ways for professional orientation of students with disabilities were defined.
