Abstract. The paper deals with the problem of reading which the specialists in different spheres study. The author gives the results of the Reading interest’s survey, which was conducted in Moscow schools (5-6 grade students). While the conducted research the author reveals the young teenagers’ reading preferences, and the influence of the school society on their choice. The results of the experiment on forming the reading preferences (the case of modern literature children).
