Abstract. Introduction. This paper discusses a pedagogical problem of the influence of a child subculture on the socialization of a child with multiple developmental disorders. The study aims to identify the factors of including a disabled child motivation, conditions, stages, auxiliary functions of assistants) in a children’s team.
Materials and Methods. The object of the study is the conditions for and stages of the expansion of a socio-cultural environment of a child with a disability. The study employed the methods of included observation, poll, conversation and content analysis in the period from 2016 to 2018. The basic method used in the study was the primary assessment of the child’s psychophysical abilities, developed at the Resource Center for the Deafblind in Yasenevo. The study involved 55 families from the city of Moscow receiving the short-term care service (the “Respite care” service) for a child at home.
Results. The results of parent-child team observation demonstrate that the degree of independence, the nature of communication with the outside world and the ideology of the parent subculture play a crucial role in determining the social environment of a child with multiple developmental disorders. The most effective mechanism for including a child with severe disabilities in the child subculture is a preliminary socializing communication with minor relatives and close friends.
Conclusion. In the future, the data of the study can be included in the process of developing an integrated model of work with the family of a child with a disability.
