Abstract. The paper presents the results of diagnosing the subject and methodological difficulties of teachers in four subjects: the Russian language, mathematics, social science, and physics. The structure of diagnostic materials and content elements for assessing subject and methodological competencies are described. The general results of the diagnostic work in terms of content elements and activities are given. Correlations between the results of diagnosis of subject difficulties of teachers and the results achieved by students in the Unified State Exam have been established.
