Pedagogical Experience in Implementing the Author’s Program for the Development of Purposefulness in Adolescents through Interaction in Communities of Different Ages

Abstract. Introduction. The relevance of the study is determined by the search for the most effective approaches to the formation of purposefulness in adolescents. The analysis of the literature shows that often adolescents cannot fulfill their potential, and demonstrate their skills not because of the lack of abilities, but due to the lack of purposefulness. The key factor in the formation of purposefulness in adolescents is the organization of interaction in communities of different ages. In theory and practice, there is no single approach to understanding the concepts of “purposefulness”, “a community of different ages”, the pedagogical potential of a community of different ages is not covered sufficiently. The purpose of the article is to present the experience of introducing the author’s program for the development of purposefulness in adolescents through their interaction in different age communities. The development of purposefulness in adolescents is considered as an integrated approach on a single methodological basis, which includes not only work with students, but also with the teachers themselves.
Materials and methods. We used the following methods to write this paper including theoretical (analysis of scientific and scientific-methodological literature on the development of purposefulness in adolescents and interaction in communities of different ages) and empirical (pedagogical experiment, observation, interviews, etc.). The level of purposefulness was assessed using a test of purposefulness (by R. Persaud).
Results., We diagnosed both experimental and control groups to obtain initial data on the level of purposefulness. According to the results of the study, the application of an integrated approach based on a single methodological basis in the development of purposefulness, which includes not only work with students, but also with the teachers themselves, the phased introduction of the author’s program showed a significant increase in the level of purposefulness
among the respondents of the experimental group.
Discussion and conclusion. The pedagogical experience of introducing the author’s program
for the development of purposefulness in adolescents through their interaction in communities
of different ages, outlined in the article, makes it possible to conclude that this program is effective and its use contributes to the development of purposefulness.
