Abstract. Introduction. The article is devoted to the life and creative journey of Klavdiya Vladimirovna Lukashevich, a renowned Russian children’s writer, and features Siberian storylines of her works. The article reflects the activities of the Irkutsk Girls’ Institute, of which she was a teacher in 1885-1890.
Materials and Methods. We used the methods of comparative analysis of historical sources and reconstruction of the historical period in the preparation of the article.
Results. The article describes the activities of the Irkutsk Girls’ Institute, the biography of its teacher K.V. Lukashevich and her work. Archival documents including correspondence between K.V. Lukashevich and composer V.D. Benevsky, the autobiography of the writer, notebooks of the artist S.A. Vinogradov have been introduced into scientific circulation and analyzed. These materials allow us to discover some new facts in the activities of the authors, to identify certain patterns in the development of musical culture at the turn of the 19th – 20th century for children, as well as to shed light on the formation of the famous artist’s work.
